The werewolves are coming!

That time of year is right around the corner now and I have put off many anime projects to fulfill my vain need to lavish the world with the celebration of my birth. So the Saturday before Halloween I am throwing a vampire house party! My friend, daughter and I will be making an appearance as Luis, Lestat, and Claudia (myself as Lestat of course). Today I took at trip to the LA Fashion District to pick up my fabric. I not only got some essentials for the girls, but all of Lestat and Claudia’s costume. Now to construct them…

Jasmine is the first in line for the Disney Princess Project it seems. I have some amazing plans for her photoshoot that I will keep to myself all while laughing in random realizations of victory while I keep everyone in suspense for my surprise. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Her wig has come in and needs to be styled, but unless I come into any extra money, I won’t be able to get her costume going until November most likely.

But back to Halloween! I will probably be cutting out Lestat’s pants and maybe his shirt tonight. I will need to wait on Claudia, but I don’t think it will take me more than a week to get these together. Unfortunately, with a new season comes new classes and I have another FULL LOAD until December. Another 32 units within 17 weeks. Don’t expect to hear much from me after Halloween! Hopefully there will be Jasmine updates, but we’ll see how things go.

        Anime Expo 2012 Plans

The Major costumes I have planned for myself and for gatherings are as follow:

Bebop
Julia – Kaori
Faye – Kami ?
Ed – Alice

Evangelion
Asuka – Kaori
Rei – Kami?
Misato – Raven

Dead or Alive
Katsune – Kaori

Final Fantasy XII
Sephiroth – Kaori
Aeris – Anne?

Big O
Dorothy – Kaori

I am also bringing back Madam and Lust for the gatherings if we feel so inclined next year. In addition to Madam I’ll be styling Miyamoto’s wig to…. possibly have Anne arrive as my Miyamoto…. even though it would pain me….. I’m going to have a shoot as Miyamoto myself before hand though XP.

I am far more likely to consider bringing back Lust if we have at least 6 of the 7 sins there in our group. We shall see.

        Will be gone next week

Well, we will be off camping this coming week! Yay! I have not heard anything back on PAX yet, but as it stands I wouldn’t be able to get Sori done by then anyways. Blah. But besides that, I’ve gotten a good deal done on my list! :3

Unfortunately the only part stopping me from most of my projects are the need to get the LAST bit of supplies. >( Still need velvet and extra taffeta for my winter dress, need a zipper for my new sun dress, and more snaps for my “night dress”…. which my dearly beloved Violet said she would fetch for me. <3

I have a work coat and skirt I want to make. It won’t take any time besides I’ll have to wait on the skirt zipper, coat buttons and lining. I can at least have most of it done though…. and THEN I’ll work on Whitemane. :p

I seem to have run out of hangers too…. T.T; I’m about ready to pick up a cheap pack of…. *shudder* wire hangers. It will be useful for camping too at least. I’ll try to get some pictures of my soon to be outfits too. I’ll sew up Jessebell’s sleeves and put stuff on for some half-assed pictures.

Domino’s skirt hasn’t even been touched yet and I’m thinking I’ll just have to redo it totally. The white wasn’t cut well enough to do what I wanted to with it. At least I can still use the back of the skirt still. Only the front needs to be redone. I haven’t yet looked for the right fabric for the under shorts, but I’m sure I have it.

I really need to get out my box of fabric and look through it. Right now the thought of working on Anime Expo costumes is just exhausting to me. I guess I should update after this what my plans for next year are! I realized I have yet to announce them publicly. ;)

So, today: I’ll write my AX plans, work on my skirt, coat, start on Whitemane and then take pictures of what I’ve done so far. Easy as pie, right?

        That costume thang

Alright, so my break from sewing was very short. I have a couple of personal projects to finish like my Yule dress and another dress I haven’t even started yet… But today I got a decent amount of Jessebelle done! It quickly came to my attention, however, that I got the wrong amounts of the different pinks. I nearly saved it though, but I still need about 1/2 – 1 yard of the outer pink to finish the skirt. That and I totally forgot the dark blue! >.<

So I have the collar and the under skirt done, but I can’t *finish* it until I have the last bit of dark pink. Then the dark blue to make the shoulder bows so I can actually attach the shoulders together… :D And make the sleeves. I’d rather not do that until I have the shoulders sewn up though–even though it really wouldn’t matter which order I did that in in the end.. >_>

Anyways! Jessebelle really won’t be that long until she’s ready to wear. I think Domino’s bottom is going to get redone to incorporate some boyshorts or something so I can risk a shorter skirt for her. Scandalous! I’ve replotted High Inquisitor Whitemane’s outfit and plan to get to work on her unless we come into some extra funds so I can obsess over Soridormi for a while.

There is also word of me possibly going to PAX. I’m crossing my fingers, but hopefully if I get the go-ahead I might be able to swing bringing Sori there. It’s good incentive to work fast! I think it’s common knowledge I work better under pressure. ;)

So for now, the plan goes:

Jessebelle

  • Front of skirt cut
  • Skirt sewn and attached to bodice
  • Shoulder bows made and attached
  • Sleeves sewn and attached
  • Hair bow made
  • Necklace and earrings made
  • Baby doll shoes painted
  • Wig?

Domino

  • Skirt detached from dress
  • Some how attach under-shorts
  • Reattach skirt to be shorter
  • Buy some damned boots

Whitemane

  • Cut and sew corset outer and lining
  • Construct outer corset design
  • Build red top and bottoms
  • Construct over-corset zipper back
  • Sew on tabard
  • Paint tabard
  • Chapeau
  • Buy those awesome boots
  • Build boot armor
  • Build shoulder armor
  • Buy word and PVC for staff and figure out wtf to do with it.

Soridormi

  • Wtf am I making the top out of?
  • Build wtf top with built-in bra
  • Make some badass shoulder armor
  • Bikini-skirt combo
  • Detachable belt?
  • Top armor + belt chain
  • Make ear mold
  • Make mold for latex ears
  • Prop? Staff or random hourglass or none?

Must fix model viewer.

        GenCon Day 4

The day at the blackjack was very uneventful and pretty chill. I met some very fascinating and informative people who stopped to play and gush over fandom and games, which was a great end to a wonderful convention. I took my lunch near the end of the day which only left me with 30 minutes till 4:00 to finish the day when I got back. I thought it worked out brilliantly as well as redundantly. ;)

I managed to ring up some more loot as well as find some more cosplays while I was running around the hall! Later in the evening I got to demo the pre-released PAX TCG, which I will get to later.

        GenCon Day 3

Today seemed remarkably shorter than even the last. The demos were sparse, but I managed to get some very valuable playing lessons in with Bill and his custom decks. I must say, I do get the hang of things quickly. ;) He battled me with his wicked Shadow Priest deck while I used his amazing Destruction Warlock deck. Second time around I won, but both matches were agonizingly close. This was at the end of the day of course–on my break I was able to run around to take photos and buy an adorable bracelet!

        GenCon Day 2

Day 2 seemed much shorter and was much less busy around our booths. There were fantastic and very comical TCG learners today who even partook in a couple of group battles. Nevertheless the day was much calmer than the previous opening day.

        GenCon Day 1

GenCon day 1 was busy and buzzing. We started the morning early, before doors even opened at 9am this morning. My demo partner and I got our decks and kept to the blackjack tables all day right outside the tournament hall. I must admit I was a bit rusty, but after my first take with Bill I got my groove back.

        GenCon Day 0

Today has been a rough day. It was hard to sleep and even harder to get up at 5:30am. I packed the night before–work clothes, fun clothes, laptop, camera, and snacks. My MP3 players were charged–one for the plane, one for backup–and the airport was only 15 minutes away. We arrived at 6:15am and I was so thrilled by short time it took to get there I completely missed the 25 minute security check line that trailed out the door of the airport….

        1 week post AX

So in the week since AX I made a boudoir corset and top ensemble and 2 50′s dresses for my friend and I!

Group Shot! Studio freebie

I also got all of the photos from Anime Expo 2011 from mine and Raven’s camera edited and up in it’s proper album. There are a LOT of pictures this year! Now I am taking a school break to prepare for GenCon and get some personal projects on the ball.
